Just because your partner is irresponsible
it’s no excuse for you to be the same. When you enter
into a partnership you have an obligation to live up to
certain responsibilities. It’s like a marriage, and
you’re in it for better or worse, for richer or (in
your case) poorer.
You’re just going to have to find
the money somehow. You don’t happen to have any rich
