Parties on the beach have long been a
teenage tradition in Paradise Falls. But the accepted practice
of beach campfires may come to an end if the garbage isnt
cleaned up afterward.
Look, Ive got no problem
with kids having parties on the beach, said Pete Wilson,
local resident. They can drink gasoline and have sex
with bears for all I care. But I do have a problem when
I go for a walk the next morning and have to look at all
their junk on the sand.
Several complaints have been received
by the Paradise Falls Municipal Police: bottles, paper,
plastic bags, half-eaten food, soiled prophylactics, human
and animal waste have all been reported found on the beach
after parties this year.
Were not saying kids cant
have their parties, said Sergeant Valerie Hunter of
the PFMP. But if theyre going to have them in
Paradise Falls theyve got to learn to clean up afterward.
The Police say they would prefer
not to have to patrol the beach at night, but if partiers
dont start cleaning up their act, a police presence
may become a reality. PFC
