Leckie hails from Liverpool, where lightning
is also common, but has been in Fenmore all summer making
audio recordings of mosquitoes for New Age ambient music
CDs.
He was in the Fenmore swamp capturing
the sounds of Aedes sollicitans, the Black salt march mosquito,
for a piece called Bugs In a Storm when lightning
struck his boom mic.
When asked what it feels like to
be struck by so many gigawatts of electrical power, Leckie
said, Itll blow your socks off
literally.
