A Novel Approach To Tourism

When the Paradise Falls Chamber of Commerce commissioned local artist Billy Hunter to create a sculpture to attract tourists, little did they know what they were getting themselves into.

Hunter’s creation goes above and beyond the town’s specifications. The piece is a splendid oversized recreation of a duck, several metres tall, with the extra addition of two enormous human mammaries.

“It’s nature and woman combined,” insisted Hunter. “It’s beautiful.”

Amid the fanfare of the media and the glamour of Hollywood celebrity Rusty Sinclair, the Paradise Falls Duck was revealed to the public recently. The reaction was intense.

“Would you look at the size of those things,” said Sinclair. It is unknown if she was referring to the duck’s wings or its breasts, but safe money is on the latter.

The Paradise Falls Duck joins Wawa’s Goose, Sudbury’s Big Nickel, Echo Bay’s Large Loonie, and the Big Apple along the 401 somewhere between Toronto and Kingston, as one of Ontario’s great oversized novelty statues. PFC
